Why buy Build-A-Tree products and what's the benefits?

For over 20 years, I was a key player in the Christmas decorations industry, supplying artificial Christmas trees to major retailers across the UK and started to break into USA. With tens of millions of dollars in sales and thousands of containers shipped, my experience highlights the stability and demand for this timeless product. In 2025, the global spend on artificial Christmas trees reached over $3 billion, with a steady growth trend of 4% year-on-year projected. By 2035, the market expected to reach an impressive $4.5 billion, showcasing the enduring popularity of artificial trees among consumers.
When working with buyers a significant part of their order was the breakdown in tree sizes.
=
150cm (Approx 5ft)
180cm (Approx 6ft)
195cm (Approx 6.5ft)
210cm (Approx 7ft)
225cm (Approx 7.5ft)
240cm (Approx 8ft)
255cm (Approx 8.5ft)
270cm (Approx 9ft)
285cm (Approx 9.5ft)
Initially I developed the centre pole, this can be constructed into five different sizes.

150cm (Approx 5ft)
180cm (Approx 6ft)
210cm (Approx 7ft)
240cm (Approx 8ft)
270cm (Approx 9ft)
One pole that can be used on our Christmas tree but also on Arches and Topiary and many other products that are in development, so if a customer is not using it for their Christmas tree it can be use it on other products, if they wanted to.

But then there are all the other sizes

195cm (Approx 6.5ft)
225cm (Approx 7.5ft)
255cm (Approx 8.5ft)
285cm (Approx 9.5ft)

I then developed the extension pole, allowing our Christmas trees to be constructed into nine different sizes.

Box 1 (Pole Pack)
Box Size
L 76 x W 20 x H 20 cm

Extension Pole

The next part was all the different designs, flocked, snow tipped, dressed, mixed tip, the list goes on….Many times looking at what they had to clear, which generated profit / loss and what they still had, if any in the warehouse from the previous year, in some cases years.

As a product designer / developer, I endeavoured to find a solution, that solution is Build-A-Tree, it gives retailers more stock control with the benefit of huge savings for the retailer.

When a buyer select a tree, they order one of many designs, in all different sizes, to give customers options so they are shipping vast quantities in different sizes as mentioned above.

Now there is a new option!
In addition to the Pole Packs, branches are also required, but rather that having to pick nine different sizes. customers can conveniently choose from five individual boxes. This innovative solution provides the same nine size options while reducing the risk for retailers of being left with only larger trees. By making parts transferable, we help minimize financial loss and streamline the purchasing process for everyone involved.

For example, a retailer is buying 1000 Trees (200 x 5ft and 100 of each of the other eight sizes)

You will also need 1000 x 5ft trees.

A fully assembled 9.5ft tree has a tip count of 2258, this tree can be supplied for indoor or outdoor use and can be quoted per requirement.

1 x optional extension pole would be required for tree sizes 6.5ft, 7.5ft. 8.5ft and 9.5ft
.
A customer can buy a 5ft tree one week and return to buy different sections if required and if available.
unfortunately the existing way we buy trees, means in December / January retailers are clearing stock, normally well below cost or putting the complete trees into stock and holding them to the following year, and warehousing is expensive.
The Build-A-Tree way means that you are holding just a few branches or clearing them with far less impact on
overall sales and profit.
